Invitation of Abstracts

Dear Colleagues,

On behalf of the Organizing Committee, I would like to invite you all to the Fifth HKEC Symposium on Community Engagement, jointly organized by the Hong Kong East Cluster and Community Partners. The Symposium will be held on 15 May 2010 (Saturday) from 10 am to 5 pm at the Youth Square, 238 Chai Wan Road, Chai Wan, Hong Kong.

The main theme of the Symposium is "Family - The Key to a Healthy Community", because we believe that family is the foundation for a healthy community. There would be plenary sessions and workshops on topics of "Supporting Family in Turmoil- Youth Substance Abuse in Action", "Caring for the Sick- Family's Role in Looking After Patients with Chronic Illnesses" and "Meeting Special Needs of Children and Adolescent in Schools". Our target participants are professionals from the fields of medical, nursing, allied health, social work, education and public. We hope that professionals from each sector could provide us with new inspiration in building a healthy community, and we expect that the Symposium could bring in more chances of collaboration with community partners.

INVITATION OF ABSTRACTS

The Committee would also like to invite submission of abstracts from you for sharing your valuable experience with us. Authors of selected papers will be invited for an eight-minute oral presentation or poster exhibition at the Symposium. The Notes on Abstract Submission and sample abstract are enclosed to facilitate your preparation of abstract. Awards will be given out at the Symposium for the best presentations and best posters. All submitted abstracts would be published in the Symposium Booklet and on internet.

Please submit your paper and consent (attachment 1) to Ms. Winky SUEN (swn078 @ha.org.hk), on or before 2 April 2010.

FREE REGISTRATION

On behalf of the Organizing Committee, I would like to invite you to our Symposium.

Registration to the Symposium is absolutely free. Please register through our Online Registration System (registration closed) or fax to 2898 4155 on or before 23 April 2010. Successful registration will be notified by email or fax.

Enquiries of the Symposium can be directed to the Secretariat at 2595 6263. We look forward to your valuable contribution and participation to make this a fruitful event.

各位醫護、社會福利界及學校同工：

由醫院管理局港島東聯網及社區服務伙伴合辦之『港島東醫院聯網社區伙伴合作研討會(五) - 健康社區．由家開始』，現謹定於 2010 年 5 月 15 日（星期六）上午十時至下午五時，假座青年廣場（香港柴灣柴灣道 238 號）舉行。

是次研討會的主題為『健康社區．由家開始』。本委員會希望透過此醫社合作之平台，凝聚各醫護、社福界及學校同工，互相交流經驗，共同分享及探討『健康社區』的服務發展及合作模式。

誠徵論文

此外，籌委會亦誠邀閣下屆時在研討會內分享您對『醫社合作』方面的寶貴經驗和心得；每位被選出之發佈者有不多於 8 分鐘之演說時間，大會更會即席評選及頒獎予優異的發佈。如蒙賜稿，請於 2010 年 4 月 2 日前將論文摘要電郵到本籌委會秘書處收（swn078 @ha.org.hk）。現附上『論文摘要』之樣本及相關資料以供參考。
